About Me

I’m a 3D Character Animator currently living in Chicago pursuing my BFA in animation from DePaul University.

As an artist I am seeking to capture exaggerated realism through the beautiful medium of animation. My favorite shots to work on are the subtle ones but I am always learning and trying new things.

When I’m not animating I’m probably reading, watching films, or drawing.

Artist Statement:

My goal is to create the kind of stories that affect and inspire people, so that when they walk out of the theater they are a different person than when they walked in. The movie that did that for me was the Lego Movie. I remember seeing it with my family and coming out, going home, and picking up my own Legos to play with. I would make stop motion films about my Legos having epic fights and car chases that I still have to this day, all because that film made me believe it was possible. That moment changed the course of my life. It has inspired me to tell stories that reach people and that people connect with, inspiring them to be more than they currently are. Even though a moment, expression, or glance may be small, it can make all the difference and help the audience not only to fall in love with the film, but with your shot in particular. When I watch a movie, there are moments that make me sit up straight in my chair and say “Wow, that was amazing!”. That feeling of awe and excitement has a magical quality and animation is uniquely suited to create those feelings in a heightened way. My goal as an animator and a storyteller is to reach people and when they see something I made, something inside them will light up, just like what happened to me all those years ago with the Lego Movie. Our lives and the lives of others are shaped by the stories we are told and the stories we tell ourselves. Stories are incredibly powerful, and to me, there is no greater joy than to create something that would make someone say, “Wow, I want to do THAT.”
